An alarm system indicates sudden changes in temperature or power failures. Adjustments to the controls can be made from the computer terminal in the home. |

Storage & Equipment Shed The storage and equipment shed stores the tractor, combine, straw chopper, bales of straw and other equipment used on the farm. Barn In between crops of chickens, the barns are cleaned and disinfected. |

Straw Bedding can be made from straw or wood shavings. Straw is used most often as it is more absorbent than the wood shavings. |

| Chicken Broiler chickens mature in 6 to 8 weeks. The female is called a pullet and the male is a cockerel. At 5 weeks they are fully feathered. |
